Musings on a Saturday morning, 9/9/2006.....

Having listened to many commentators about the Path to 9/11 Show about to air on ABC (assuming ABC has the guts to so do), I've had an epihany of sorts. 

Many of us think that the Clinton forces are upset and concerned that the film will highlight how distracted they were during the Lewinsky years, leading to their criminal negligence, not responding after the embassy bombings, the Cole, etc.  All of which ultimately emboldened the Bin Laden group and led to the horrors of 9/11.  

But, it hit me...it isn't the fact that the Clinton administration was distracted, it was that WE, the people, were distracted by the sideshow of Lewinsky, Travelgate, Whitewater, all of the utter nonsense that occurred during the Clinton years.  We were not distracted from the tasks at hand--facing global jihadism and terrorism--but rather from the fact that the Wizard of Oz types in the White House were not capable of doing anything about any of it.  It was always 'look over there', like the Wizard said to Dorothy when she realized that he was just a man behind the curtain.

The Clinton 'legacy' will be seen in the coming years as smoke and mirrors, nothingness hiding behind scandal and silliness, and ultimately behind the Clintons' (and their associates') utter and total narcissism.  They were all nothing more than resume enhancers, people joining 'public service' for the booty and ego strokes.  Shallow people who didn't know what they were doing.

The 8 years of this sham is now exposed on film.  When you distill the events, and you STOP at 9/11, all the Michael Moore 'Pet Goat' nonsense fades to black.  You see the steady beat of 8 years from 1993 and the first WTC attack to the ultimate attack on our culture and world on 9/11.  Exposed finally for the total emptiness of their 8 years in office, the Clintons again want to distract us.  They want us to 'look over there' at the 'dramatization' of what Sandy Berger did or didn't do or say, when in fact it was the lack of doing anything, not anything specific he said or did (or didn't say or do), that led to 9/11.

We can only hope our fellow citizens have the same epiphany, and that we don't get distracted again by the Clintons' hijinks and lack of substance.
